Every bar on this page was poured by hand in a Florida kitchen, cut on a wire, and left to cure four to six weeks before it was allowed to leave the bench. That curing time is why a handmade bar lasts: the water evaporates, the bar hardens, and the lather turns creamy instead of thin. Browse the whole soap shelf here, or narrow down by what the bar is made of and who it's for.
Most mass-market bars are synthetic detergent with the glycerin removed and sold separately. Cold-process soap keeps its glycerin — the part that makes lather feel rich rather than stripping — and ours cures four to six weeks so the bar is harder and lasts longer.
